This whimsical journey takes you into the cartoon universe of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, where anything is possible.
What you will - and won't - find in this attraction
As you enter the theater, you'll be immersed in the lobby of the Chinese Theater, adorned with posters for Mickey Mouse cartoons.
The pre-show is a private screening of the Mickey and Minnie Mouse cartoon, "Perfect Picnic." But when Goofy arrives, conducting the Runnamuck Railroad, nothing goes according to plan.
After a show-stopping accident, Goofy invites everyone into the cartoon to take a ride on the train.
As you board your train car, you'll find yourself magically transported into the vibrant and colorful world of Mickey and Minnie's cartoon shorts. The train becomes your vehicle for a wild and unpredictable ride through a series of immersive scenes and zany adventures.
Be prepared for surprises at every turn. From an unexpected entrance into a cartoon to encounters with beloved Disney characters like Goofy and Pluto, the journey is filled with laughter, excitement, and whimsy.
One of the highlights of the attraction is the catchy original song, "Nothing Can Stop Us Now," which accompanies you on your adventure and adds an extra layer of fun and joy to the experience.
The attraction utilizes groundbreaking technology to transform the flat cartoon world into a three-dimensional experience. The vibrant visuals, catchy music, and seamless storytelling make you feel like you've stepped into a living, breathing cartoon.
Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway is suitable for guests of all ages. Its whimsical storytelling, engaging visuals, and delightful surprises make it a must-see.
It's worth noting that the audio in Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway is quite loud at times, so guests who are sensitive to loud noise should exercise caution. The attraction also uses smoke effects early on.

One of the highlights of the attraction is the pre-show. An accident on the train causes a massive explosion, which literally blows up the screen, with smoke billowing into the room. The screen becomes your doorway to enter the attraction, and step into the cartoon. It's one of the best surprises Disney Imagineers have created thus far.
Another highlight is the trackless vehicle technology used. At the start of the ride, Mickey and Minnie accidentally hit a track switch, which splits the train cars from one another - hence the title "Runaway Railway." For the rest of the attraction, the train cars move about mostly independent from one another, in a highly choreographed fashion that feels autonomous. This both gives you the sense of being on a runaway railway, but also invites you to experience the attraction multiple times, as each train car takes a different journey, until Mickey and Minnie save the day.
As you exit the attraction, don't miss the details of the theming. The exit is designed to look nearly identical to the pre-show room. You'll exit once again through a screen, leaving the cartoon and returning to the real world. Be sure to look back and notice that the screen now says "The End," as you've reached the conclusion of the short cartoon. People tend to breeze past this detail of the exit, but it's one of those small extra magic details that makes Disney World so special.
