One of the largest fully-enclosed coasters in the world, this blend of adrenaline-pumping thrills, breathtaking technology, and immersive storytelling is one of the most unique and amazing attractions Disney has ever created.
What you will - and won't - find in this attraction
Prepare to be teleported into one of the Guardians adventures, to help them save Earth from a mysterious villain.
As you enter the queue, you'll begin touring the Wonders of Xandar, an exhibition discussing the similarities and differences between Xandar and Earth's galaxies. You'll see models of Xandarian cities, learn about their military, various kinds of aircraft, and more.
You'll even learn about Star-Lord / Peter Quill's childhood love for EPCOT, and his excitement to return to experience some of its classic attractions.
As you continue into the pre-show, you'll be introduced to some Xandarian technology that allows them to travel across galaxies. Your tour of the Wonders of Xandar concludes with a demonstration of this technology.
Just as you are about to reach the demonstration, everything goes sideways, and you're enlisted in a plan to help the Guardians save Earth from destruction. You'll be taken from the pre-show to board an evacuation shuttle programmed to help the Guardians in their mission.
Boarding your evacuation shuttle, you'll embark on an unforgettable ride across the galaxy and through time. Cosmic Rewind seamlessly blends roller coaster type thrills, a rotating vehicle, special effects, and storytelling to create a truly one-of-a-kind ride experience.
It's best experienced knowing as little as possible going in, but if you want to know more details, see the section below for a description of ride elements to be aware of. And of course, if you want to know everything, you can also read the Spoilers section.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is designed to be a family-friendly thrill ride suitable for guests who meet the height requirement. However, some elements of the experience may be too intense.
The pre-show includes loud noises and a moment of pitch-black darkness as guests are "transported" to the Cosmic Generator demonstration area.
Additionally, the pre-show features a rather ominous and intimidating villain with a deep, booming voice, and some tense discussion between the Guardians and the Xandarians as they plan a rescue mission. The boarding area is also dimly lit, with dramatic music, which heightens the anticipation for the attraction, but may make children nervous.
It's best to exercise caution with this ride. We have ridden with people sensitive to motion sickness and they were ok, but they chose not to ride a second time. These same people chose not to ride Mission: SPACE.
Finally, the ride vehicle plays music during the attraction, along with dialogue that tells the story. This audio track is noticeably loud, so guests who are sensitive to loud noises may wish to sit out.

The highlight of the attraction is the "omnicoaster" technology, the first of its kind. This technology allows the ride vehicle to rotate 360 degrees during the ride.
There is only one full 360-degree rotation, but the ride frequently rotates partially.
Due to the ride vehicle's frequent rotation, guests prone to motion sickness should exercise caution.
Additionally, at the beginning of the ride, the ride vehicle rotates 180-degrees, creating a reverse launch in complete darkness, during which the vehicle accelerates to nearly 60 mph.
There are also large screens throughout the ride to propel the story forward, which can cause some dizziness.
