What you will - and won't - find in this attraction
Once you reach the ride's pre-show area, you'll be introduced to the concept of linking with an Avatar, a Na'vi-human hybrid. This connection allows you to experience the thrill of flying on the back of a banshee through the awe-inspiring landscapes of Pandora.
As you're guided to the link chambers, you'll find yourself seated on a specialized ride vehicle known as an "Ikran" or "Banshee." With the help of innovative 3D projection technology, you'll feel the banshee breathe beneath you and sense its movements as if you're truly riding on its back.
Once you're linked to your Avatar, get ready for an immersive and exhilarating flight through Pandora's lush forests, soaring mountains, and shimmering waterfalls. Feel the wind in your face and the splashes of water as you dive and swoop through this otherworldly landscape.
The visual effects, combined with the fluid movements of the ride vehicle, create a truly immersive and realistic experience. You'll be surrounded by stunning sights, dynamic sounds, and even scents that transport you into the heart of the Avatar adventure.
Please note that "Avatar: Flight of Passage" includes moments of simulated flight, dramatic movements, and a realistic sense of speed. The intensity of the experience, coupled with the 3D visuals, may be too overwhelming for young children or individuals who are sensitive to simulated motion or virtual reality.
The ride vehicle for "Avatar: Flight of Passage" is a state-of-the-art motorcycle-like structure. Each vehicle is equipped with a secure backrest and handlebars for a comfortable and secure ride experience. Please note that for the fullest ride experience, your chest, stomach, and hips will be pressed against the front of the vehicle and the backrest will feel tight at first.

With the help of innovative 3D projection and motion simulation systems, you'll feel like you're soaring through Pandora's captivating landscapes. The vehicle's motions are synchronized with the breathtaking visuals, allowing you to experience the exhilaration and freedom of flying.
Throughout the ride, the vehicle responds to the on-screen action, creating a fully immersive and synchronized experience. You'll feel the banshee's breath beneath you, sense its movements, and even experience simulated gusts of wind and splashes of water.
While "Avatar: Flight of Passage" offers an incredibly immersive and thrilling experience, there are elements that some guests may find intense. Here are a few considerations to keep in mind:
Simulated Flight and Motion: The attraction simulates the sensation of flying on the back of a banshee, which involves dynamic movements, dips, and turns. These simulated flight motions, coupled with the 3D visuals, may be intense for individuals who are prone to motion sickness or have a sensitivity to virtual reality experiences.
Heightened Sensory Stimulation: The attraction utilizes a combination of visuals, sounds, scents, and even the sensation of wind to create an immersive experience. The heightened sensory stimulation, including the 3D effects and the sensation of speed, may be overwhelming for individuals who are sensitive to intense sensory inputs.
Enclosed Spaces: The attraction features individual ride vehicles that secure guests in a seated position. The feeling of being enclosed or restrained may be uncomfortable for individuals who have claustrophobia or anxiety in enclosed spaces.
Consider discussing any concerns with a Cast Member before riding or experiencing the attraction from a distance to gauge its suitability for you or your group. There is also a demonstration ride vehicle in front of the attraction, if you wish to test it out before entering the queue.
